The Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani, held an informal conversation with journalists today on several issues of importance to justice.
Asked about the investigation into Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, whether SPAK has enough evidence to register names of people under investigation, Dumani said that the investigation is in the preliminary investigation phase and cannot make more details public.
"The matter is in the preliminary investigation phase and I cannot make more information public. You have reported on the checks, but they are a tool for searching for evidence," said Dumani.
Dumani spoke about the issue of the Tirana incinerator, for which he said that after the seizure, there are security measures for those suspected of having benefited from those funds.
"Has the Tirana incinerator issue been investigated, where did the money go?" asked one of the journalists present.
"At the moment the seizure is imposed, the Tirana incinerator is under state administration. The administrator has the obligation to manage it, he is the person responsible for the money. Regarding the issue of the seizure, there is a security measure for those suspected of having benefited from those funds, and the rest of the money is also being investigated," said Dumani.
Dumani also spoke about the reports from other institutions in SPAK, for which he said they have been encouraged to provide the Special Prosecution Office with materials.
"There are institutions that leave something to be desired, but we have encouraged them to provide us with reports when they suspect violations of the law," Dumani concluded, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
