Another anti-drug operation has been conducted in the Shkodra region, where police have destroyed nearly 3,000 cannabis plants discovered in remote mountainous areas.
Sources from the Shkodra Police indicate that during recent inspections, plots planted with narcotic plants were identified in the Pult, Shosh, Kastrat, Gruemirë, Temal, Shllak, Luf-Qerret and Gjegjan units. In total, 2943 plants suspected of being Cannabis Sativa were found and burned.
The majority of the cannabis was discovered in the territory of Malesia e Madhe, where police say 1,631 plants were destroyed in the areas of Kastrati and Gruemira. Another large plot was identified in Pult and Shosh, where 735 plants were found, while the rest was discovered in Vau Dejës and Puka.
For the cases found, two VP employees, forest guards, and AK, a guard of protected areas, have been criminally prosecuted, who are accused of abuse of office, as they failed to report cases of cannabis in the areas they were tasked with supervising. (A2 Televizion)
