Edjona Dano has been appointed as the new head of the Kuçova Police Station, becoming one of the first women to take on such a leadership position at this level, following the opening of the competition for the post of chief of police. Her appointment represents an important step towards gender equality and recognition of the key role that women play in law enforcement.
With a career built on professionalism, integrity, and dedication, Edjona Dano is seen as an inspiring figure for many girls and women who aspire to leadership positions in state structures.
Dano was the only woman who competed for police chief and was announced on the winning list, and also qualified as the winner among the 290 contestants who aimed to be police chiefs at the end of last year.
Most recently, Dano held the position of Head of the Section for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and the Protection of Minors, at the Tirana Police. Previously, he held the position of Head of the Section for the Investigation of Crimes at the Police Commissariat No. 6 in Tirana.
