The Special Prosecution Office is carrying out an operation in several cities across the country, A2 CNN reports. According to information, a criminal drug trafficking group from Latin America has been hit. 13 arrest warrants have been signed for the investigation, including for police officers.
Investigations were launched several years ago, regarding criminal groups that traffic narcotics, thanks to interceptions in the SKY ECC application.
Sources from the prosecution tell A2 CNN that so far 8 of the arrest warrants have been executed, while 5 other people are wanted.
The operation was organized in various cities of the country, mainly in Tirana and Shkodra. One of the State Police employees declared wanted is Eljon Dani, who previously held the position of Chief of Crimes at Police Station No. 3 in the capital, from where he left about two years ago.
SPAK has not yet issued an official announcement, but according to preliminary data, it concerns several shipments of narcotics trafficked from South America. The quantities ranged from 850 kg to 1 ton of cocaine. (A2 Televizion)
