The final phase for police officers competing for the 6 vacant positions for chiefs of police stations has been closed. Initially, 50 police officers with the ranks of "deputy commissioner", "commissioner" and "chief commissioner" applied, aiming to occupy one of the positions at Police Station No. 2 in Tirana, Rinas, Himara, Cerrik, the Dibër Border Police Station and the Saranda Border Police Station, writes A2 CNN.
After the preliminary phase for verification of documentation, the commission qualified 46 of them. However, 42 contestants participated in the interview phase, after 4 police officers withdrew from the competition. Now, at the end of the process, the minimum qualifying limit to receive a possible appointment should have been 70 points. Under these conditions, out of 42 contestants in total, only 17 of them passed the threshold of 70 points.
The winning list is headed by the Deputy Director of the Tirana Police, Idris Daulle, with 74 points. He is followed by Përparim Dema, the current chief of the Rinas Police Station. This is the first time that the chief of the Rinas Police Station has been elected through a competition, as the competition for this position at the end of last year, where all the new chiefs were elected through a competition, did not open.
The winning list also includes other names that have previously been chiefs of police stations, such as Oltion Agolli and Bledar Rreshka, or even the chief of crimes at Police Station No. 2, Ermal Kenaçi. The only woman on the list is Edjona Dano, currently Head of the Section for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and the Protection of Minors at the Tirana Police. Dano qualified as the winner among 290 competitors who aimed at the end of last year to be chiefs of police stations. Previously, she held the position of Head of the Section for the Investigation of Crimes at Police Station No. 6 in Tirana.
After the announcement of the scores, the candidates have 5 days to appeal the scores they received. It is now in the hands of the General Director of the State Police Ilir Proda that out of the 17 winning contestants, only 6 of them will be appointed to the position of chief of the police station.
