A person was handcuffed at the Kakavija Border Point after allegedly hiding the car from which two people were shot with a gun on January 2 in Berat.
The police announce that the citizen with the initials ED, 46 years old, resident of Berat, was put in handcuffs for the criminal offense of "Supporting the author of the crime", writes A2.
"Investigations are continuing to unravel the incident of 02.01.2025, in the "Donika Kastrioti" neighborhood, where 2 citizens (already identified by the Police), shot from the vehicle with firearms in the direction of 2 other citizens.
The 46-year-old man who hid the vehicle from which the 2 brothers were shot was identified and detained in the PKK Kakavije, in an attempt to leave Albania. The "Ford" type vehicle that this citizen had hidden is located in Durrës.
In addition, the Kalashnikov firearm with which he allegedly shot himself, as well as some of its cartridges, are found in the apartments of the 2 brothers.
Following the in-depth investigative and procedural actions, carried out under the direction of the prosecutor, immediately after this event, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the DVP Berat, in cooperation with the services of the PKK Kakavije, arrested the citizen ED, 46 years old, resident in Berat, for the criminal offense "Supporting the author of the crime".
From the investigations so far, it is suspected that this citizen hid the "Ford" type vehicle from which the brothers FM and MM are suspected to have fired firearms at citizens AM and A. Dh., who were moving on foot, in the neighborhood "Donika Kastrioti". There were no injured citizens from the shooting.
