Tirana police have announced that they have arrested a person who was found with two firearms in his apartment.
It is learned that 53-year-old Arben Karaj has been placed in handcuffs.
"The police operation codenamed "Rifle" is finalized by Police Station No. 6.
2 firearms, rifles, combat ammunition and 1 cutting tool (knife) were seized.
The 53-year-old man who was holding them in the apartment is arrested.
The services of Police Commissariat No. 6, in continuation of the work to crack down on illegality in the field of illegal possession of weapons, based on information provided by police intelligence that a citizen possessed weapons and other illegal items in his apartment, in the village of Grorë, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Rifle".
As a result of which, citizen AK, 53 years old, was arrested for the criminal offenses of "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons".
During the search of the apartment, the Police services found and seized, as material evidence, 2 firearms, rifles, combat ammunition and 1 cutting tool (knife).
"The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions," the police announced.
