A person wanted by Italian authorities has been arrested by police in Laç after being internationally wanted.
As part of the operation codenamed "Operacionalja 43", citizen Everest Aliu alias Everest Veseli, 34, was located and arrested in the city of Laç. He had been sentenced by the Court of Appeal of Florence to 6 years, 5 months and 22 days in prison, as a member of a criminal group that in 2014 had committed 12 burglaries in apartments in the province of Florence.
His capture was made possible thanks to close cooperation between Albanian structures and Italian authorities. Currently, Interpol Tirana is working to complete the procedures for his extradition to Italy. (A2 Televizion)
