The National Authority for Cybersecurity has announced that it has successfully blocked a scam targeting Albanian citizens through a false message.
Through a statement, ASKS announced that this fraud aimed to acquire citizens' banking data, on behalf of Raiffeisen Bank.
Also, AKSK informs all citizens to be cautious in such cases, before sharing sensitive financial information.

Case successfully blocked by AKSK: malicious attack via SMS (smishing).
An attempt to defraud Albanian citizens through a fake SMS, which attempted to acquire banking data in the name of Raiffeisen Bank, was prevented and neutralized in record time.
Thanks to close inter-institutional cooperation with Raiffeisen Bank and AKEP, the National Cyber Security Authority (AKSK) immediately took measures to block malicious activity and access to the fraudulent website, preventing the further spread of this smishing attack.
Fraudulent SMS messages like these attempt to trick citizens into clicking on suspicious links and sharing sensitive financial information. Thanks to quick intervention and continuous monitoring, they were prevented from having an impact on Albanian citizens.

✅ Always verify the official addresses of banks or institutions.
