The Special Court of Appeal rejected the appeal made by Ajola Xoxa, the wife of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, against the decision that allowed the SPAK to control and seize the mobile phone. In the same decision, the Appeal overturned the same claims raised against the controls by the mayor's brother, Arbër Veliaj, and two companies whose premises passed through the filter of BKH agents, A2 CNN reports.
Xoxa was not present at SPAK, where he was represented by lawyer Ermir Beta. Through the defender, she contested the decision of the First Instance to allow the checks, claims that were not accepted by the Appeal. A few days ago, the Special Court rejected the requests made by two close family members of Veliaj, his wife and brother, to returned the items seized during the checks made on their premises, or of persons related to them, reports A2 CNN.
While on Monday afternoon, Xoxe was personally at SPAK. According to sources close to the institution, for almost 3 hours in a row she gave explanations in the capacity of a person who has knowledge, for the account of an investigation of SPAK registered for the criminal offense of "passive corruption of officials of high state officials, or elected officials local".
Referring to the decision on the contested controls, SPAK has raised suspicions that close family members and other family members of Mayor Veliaj have received illegal benefits through some companies and individuals who have direct interests in the Municipality of Tirana. (A2 Televizion)
