Milena Deraj, the former employee of the Bank of Albania and the Parliament, accused by two levels of the judiciary of "fraud with serious consequences", seeks innocence in the Supreme Court.
The 31-year-old woman, who has benefited almost 570 thousand euros through fraud, contested in the Supreme Court the decision of the Appeal of June of this year, according to which she was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
The Appeal decision confirmed the same measure of punishment given to her by the First Instance. According to the courts, the former employee of the Bank of Albania benefited 340,000 euros from the fraud of two people, whom she undertook to settle a court case according to their interest.
In another episode, she received 225,000 euros from a friend of hers, whom she promised to invest in treasury bonds. The investigation against Deraj started after a report made by her to the police, where she claimed that she was held hostage by members of the Ferracaku family, from whom she had taken the sum of 340 thousand euros.
