Tirana Police have finalized an operation to crack down on cybercrimes, arresting Turkish citizen Ferhat Karakus.
The 41-year-old is accused of using his business assets to carry out illegal transactions using a card belonging to another citizen, who was not in Albania at the time of the transaction.
"The Turkish citizen FK, 41 years old, has been arrested, who, in collaboration with other citizens, through computer fraud, had carried out illegal transactions worth over 1 million euros. These transactions have also been reported as fraudulent acts by the company 'MasterCard'", informs the police.
The Blue Uniforms explain that in cooperation with counterpart law enforcement agencies, work is being done to clarify the circumstances of the case and identify other citizens suspected of being involved in this illegal activity. (A2 Televizion)
