The Complaints and Sanctions Commission, under the CEC, found the former secretary general of the Municipality of Tirana, Alban Dokushi, in violation for failing to report two public activities, fining him 6 thousand lek.

This is about Erion Veliaj's last public activity before his arrest, the inauguration of Kindergarten 44, as well as Edi Rama's rally with the Municipality staff, after Veliaj's arrest.

While Erion Veliaj has been in solitary confinement for 70 days, one of the mayor of Tirana's most trusted men is found guilty by the Complaints and Sanctions Commission, at the CEC. Alban Dokushi, the former Secretary General of the Municipality of Tirana, was fined twice for failing to comply with the articles of the Electoral Code for reporting two public activities.

The CEC had found that in the event broadcast on February 10, the day on which Veliaj himself was arrested, the Municipality of Tirana had not reported the presence of two socialist deputies, Plarent Ndreca and Ermonela Felaj, at the inauguration of the Luleborë kindergarten. Already dismissed from office, Dokushi did not appear in person to defend himself, but had sent a written statement.

The second fine was related to the rally organized by Edi Rama on February 20th in Skanderbeg Square with Tirana Municipality staff, following Veliaj's arrest. The Municipality had considered it a working meeting and therefore did not report it to the CEC.

The arguments in the Municipality's letter did not convince the KAS, which not only approved the request for a fine, but tripled it from 2 thousand lek in total for both violations, as Chief Commissioner Celibashi had proposed, to a fine of 6 thousand new lek.  (A2 Televizion)
