Firearms, ammunition and drugs, two arrested in Berat and Kruja

Two people have ended up behind bars, in Kruja and Berat, after they were found in possession of illegal firearms.

Police in Kruja arrested 68-year-old Naim Kallaku after finding a rifle-type firearm and a non-functional weapon from the time of World War II on his person.

"Following the checks carried out by the services of the Krujë Police Commissariat, based on proactive investigations and the work of police intelligence, with the objective of cracking down on cases of illegal possession of weapons, it was found that citizen NK, 68 years old, was carrying 1 rifle firearm in his subject, in the village of Bubq. In the premises of this subject, 1 non-functional weapon, suspected to be from the time of World War II, was also found. At the end of the procedural actions, citizen Naim Kallaku was arrested, and the 2 weapons were seized as material evidence", the police announced.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old resident of the village of Roshnik was arrested in Berat. The young man was stopped during the evening while driving with cannabis in his car, on the Berat-Dimal road. Later, during a search of his apartment, officers also found firearms and ammunition.

"Citizen AZ, 27 years old, resident of the village of Roshnik, Berat, was arrested in flagrante delicto. During the night, on the "Berat-Dimal" road, the Police services located the vehicle driven by citizen AZ. During the physical search, a quantity of suspected cannabis sativa narcotic substance was found on this citizen. Following the procedural actions, during the search carried out in the apartment of citizen AZ, another quantity of suspected cannabis sativa narcotic substance, 1 shotgun, shotgun cartridges and 1 sports pistol were found and seized as material evidence. The investigations have resulted in this citizen obtaining narcotic substances and dividing them into doses, which he sold in different areas of the city", informs the police. (A2 Televizion)
