After almost two weeks in the hospital, priest Kristaq Viso, who fell from the roof of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Korça on May 19 while carrying out some repairs, has passed away. He was taken by helicopter to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, after suffering serious injuries to his head and body, writes A2 CNN.
The news of his passing was announced by the Holy Metropolis of Korça through a post on Facebook.
"Today, the Iconomist Stavrophor Father Kristaq Viso passed away! The Holy Metropolis of Korça expresses its heartfelt condolences to his wife, daughters, and all family and relatives! We pray to God, whom he served, to comfort him and grant his soul rest with the saints in the bosom of Abraham in the Kingdom of Heaven!"
"May the path you are on today be blessed, for a resting place has been prepared for you high in heaven, a blessed paradise, our blessed and always remembered brother!" writes the Metropolitanate of Korça, according to A2 CNN.
Priest Kristaq Viso served as a clergyman at the Church of Saint Thomas in the village of Çiflig, but had gone to help another priest repair the roof of the Church of the Holy Trinity in the public cemetery of the city of Korça, when he suddenly fell from the height of the church to the ground, suffering serious bodily injuries, writes A2.
