Former opposition MP, Halit Valteri, testified today at the Special Court, in the case filed against Plarent Dervishaj and Juljan Meçe, for the assassination of former prosecutor Arjan Ndoj, today a DP MP elected on May 11.
Valteri told the audience that he was the father of Arjan Ndoja's murdered driver, Genci Maloku, who had given him the footage from the cameras he had, to make it possible to solve the assassination attempt that left his son dead. According to Valteri, this prompted him to raise his voice in Parliament regarding this event.
Meanwhile, regarding the mention of Plarent Dervishaj's name in the plenary session, Valteri said that he was then contacted in a friendly manner by Ramazan Raja, who told him that he was being targeted by 'Lenti of Durrës'.
Meanwhile, Dervishaj's lawyer requested that the phone records of witness Valteri be checked, as according to him, they claimed that the interrogation was created by 2 people, Sandër Lleshaj and Arjan Ndoj.
Excerpts from the discussion:
Prosecutor: Can you tell us what function you had during 2019-2020?
Valteri: I was a member of parliament.
Prosecutor: Do you know Genc Maloku?
Valteri: I know him because I met him a few days after his son passed away.
I was a member of Parliament, I was active against the government.
That day, citizen Genci Maloku came to me and said, 'They killed my son and I have a video.' I felt sorry for him and as a member of parliament I took up this issue, exploiting it politically.
He gave me a tablet showing two people, one with a hat, the other without.
It was a recording of footage, after I saw it in Parliament, I returned the tablet to Genc Maloku.
Prosecutor: Dad said something, why isn't the incident being told?
Valteri: The boy's father told me that only if it was heard in Parliament would the incident be revealed.
I don't remember the names of the people.
Prosecutor: You mentioned it in the interpellation.
Valteri: I mentioned some names without knowing who they are, so I spoke on behalf of Genci Maloku.
The driver of a state prosecutor was killed. I don't remember the name, I just saw the testimony.
Ramazan Rraja called me, I've had him since high school, he spoke to me in a friendly way, he said 'why did you mention Plaurent Dervishaj's name, he told me about Lentin...'
I told him that 'I have no connection with him, nor do I know him, but only what the victim's father told me.'
Another time I met the victim's father and he told me that after the interpellation with the minister, the incident would be clarified.
Lawyer Ilia Ilia: What was the indication that you met with the victim's father?
Valteri: He came to meet me in person, he expressed his concern for me as a citizen.
Lawyer Ilia Ilia: Do you know Arjan Ndoja?
Valteri: I know him from TV, as a lawyer or prosecutor I have no family acquaintance with him. I know citizen Arjan Ndoja as a character, not because I have had any conversations or meetings before.
Ilia Ilia: Have you addressed other situations in other interviews, with the assassination suspected of being organized by my client, as it is the only assassination filmed and without an author.
Walter: No.
Lawyer Ilia Ilia: Have you spoken to citizen Sandër Lleshaj?
Valteri: I used it for political issues to increase my status as an opposition MP.
Plaurent Dervishaj: I heard from the witness that he said 'Lenti of Durrës will not leave you'. Before you appeared in the interpellation, did you hear about my name and what I represent?
Valteri: No, I haven't heard what you represent. After the conversation with Ramazan Rraja, I didn't talk to him anymore because he told me that he was getting fed up.
I explained that I had nothing personal.
Julian: How many times have you watched the video?
Valteri: The day Genci Maloku gave it to me and once before the plenary session.
Julian: Are you convinced by only watching a video twice?
Valteri: I am not a prosecutor, nor a criminal expert, but my speech was for the benefit of the citizen, as a member of parliament where the voice of the citizen can be heard in the Assembly.
Lawyer Ilia: I request that the telephone records of witness Valteri be checked, where we claim that the interpellation was created by 2 people, Sandër Lleshaj and Arjan Ndoj.
The same request was made by the Prosecutor's Office. (A2 Televizion)
