The Kukes Court this Wednesday remanded Zenel Muçmata in custody.
The request of the prosecutor in the case, Vilma Kapaj, for a preliminary measure was taken into account by the preliminary judge of the First Instance Court, Suada Kurti, deciding to keep citizen Zenel Muçmata in prison indefinitely.
He was arrested on Monday in Tirana, suspected of involvement in the incident on February 19 of this year in Bicaj, Kukës, where Elvis Halilaj was injured.
He is accused of the criminal offenses of "Premeditated Murder", attempted, committed in collaboration and "Unlicensed Production and Possession of Explosive Weapons and Ammunition".
Genci Pinguli and Enes Asllanaj were arrested along with Zeneli. The assessment of the arrest measure for the latter two will take place on Thursday, February 27.
We recall that the Kukës Court, on February 24, remanded Sebastian Muçmata in pretrial detention for an indefinite period after he injured Elvis Halilaj with a firearm on February 19.
The cause of the conflict was the dismissal of Elvis Halilaj, who claimed that he had been unfairly dismissed by the Director of Public Services in the municipality, Zenel Muçmata, Sebastian's brother.
He claims that he intervened to protect his family members and did not intend to kill the relative of the mayor of Kukës, Albert Halilaj. (A2 Televizion)
