At the end of the year, it seems that vehicle drivers have been more careful while traveling, thus avoiding accidents and reducing their number. The Institute of Statistics reports that for the month of November the number of accidents fell to 147 from 167 registered a year ago.
Accidents have mostly occurred as a result of the behavior of the driver, mostly men, which has influenced the increase in cases but also the increase in injuries and deaths. 133 accidents occurred as a result of drivers leading to 174 injuries and deaths in November.
It is the 25-34-year-old age group that has "blooded" the most on Albania's roads, causing the highest number of accidents, at 26.5% of the total.
This age group turns out to be the most problematic over the years. But starting from 2025, the regulations for problematic drivers will also change, affecting car insurance. All those drivers who have caused accidents will have higher insurance, while the age of the car and the driver's experience will be taken into consideration to determine the insurance value.
More accidents occurred on Wednesday in the afternoon, when the movements of citizens after the end of working hours move more with their vehicles.
Tirana prevails in the number of accidents followed by Lezha and Durrësi. While fewer accidents were registered in Kukës and Korçë.
