The Dibra Police have cracked down on a case of smuggling of goods from North Macedonia for which excise duty is paid. According to the Police, it concerns 412 liters of fuel which were seized by the Bllata border police. The 54-year-old man from Tirana was arrested, while 17 diesel cans were also seized, which he was trying to bring into our country, without declaring them.

A case of an attempt to smuggle goods subject to excise duty into Albania has been cracked down on.
He attempted to smuggle 412 liters of fuel from North Macedonia, the Border Police caught and handcuffed the 54-year-old.
17 cans of gasoline and diesel and the vehicle in which the 54-year-old was transporting them were seized.
The services of the Dibër Border Police Commissariat, in continuation of border monitoring and detailed control, with the aim of preventing and combating cross-border crimes, have made it possible to crack down on a case of attempted smuggling into Albania of goods for which excise duty is paid.
The Bllatë Border Police Services, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, have stopped for inspection the "Benz" type vehicle, driven by citizen P. Ç., in which 17 canisters filled with 412 liters of gasoline and diesel were found, which this citizen was attempting to bring into our country, without declaring them.
The quantity of fuel was seized as material evidence, along with the vehicle, while its driver, citizen P. Ç., 54 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Smuggling of goods subject to excise duty".
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Dibër, for further action. (A2 Televizion)
