The aerial operation resumed this morning with two Air Force helicopters to neutralize the fires in Borsh, Piqeras and Sasaj.
Since yesterday, the flames have been threatening homes and businesses in the area due to strong winds that favored the rapid spread of the flames during the early morning hours, writes A2 CNN.
Firefighters and the Armed Forces stationed in Borsh managed to establish security perimeters around the apartments overnight. State police and civil emergency workers helped residents and vacationers evacuate from the most endangered areas, escorting 40 of them to safety areas.
Himara firefighters and the Armed Forces continue the operation on the ground, coordinating work with helicopter crews to eliminate any danger.
