"12 Angry Men" on Justice and Prejudice

We found the theater full. 400 seats, but more than 400 individuals wanting to see “12 Angry Men” trying to reach a unanimous decision.

Different characters, ages and professions, 12 men gather in one of the halls of the justice system as members of a jury who must decide on a serious event that is being analyzed on appeal. A 16-year-old boy, accused of killing his father, is found guilty by the court. The courtroom drama also "digs" into personal experiences, discrimination and prejudice that prevent not only individuals from judging fairly and impartially, but also the justice system.

A topic that affects not only Albanian society, but also the individual. If you know the expression "you can't make two Albanians agree", this theatrical work revived under the concept of director Albert Minga will teach you how 12 characters come together when they learn to listen and respect each other without prejudice, how we can be decision-makers and fair at the same time in a democratic society.

The way in which reason, logic, and compassion can influence any process in life, not just the judicial process, is narrated by 12 men, well-known actors on the theater stage, and a lady who occasionally intervenes to observe the process.

Director Albert Minga has chosen the following actors for the cast: Alfred Trebicka, Viktor Zhusti, Niko Kanxheri, Sokol Angjeli, Neritan Liçaj, Myzafer Zifla, Lulzim Zeqja, Ligoraq Riza, Florian Agalliu, Besmir Bitraku, Donald Shehu, Igli Zarka and Doriana Çaushi.

Niko Kanxheri returned to the stage after many years and the emotions, as well as the efforts, are great. The applause is for all those who, on this journey, overcame prejudices, listened to the opinion of others, tried to walk in their friend's shoes, discussed and decided, decided to forgive themselves before saving the boy, the teenager, justice and the state through democracy and freedom of speech.
