"Zojë" was the newest documentary presented by Luljeta Progni. Under the direction of Pandeli Çeço, screenwriter Progni tells the story of her mother, but also the story of many Albanian women who faced the horrors and tortures of the dictatorship.
A first-person documentary that recounts the horrors and the struggle to survive with dignity at a time when dignity is desecrated in communist Albania, this is the story of Zojë Progni, a lady who was forced to go into exile to raise her son without a husband, to lose your daughter, but to find the strength to rise again.
" It was rare language, pain, that he described. I have heard those stories thousands of times, off the mic, as she never wanted to burden anyone else with her story. He always said my heavy, painful stone, I don't have to drop it on my back. In fact, I was repeatedly turned down for an interview. It is a first-person account, as the interview with Zoja was extremely difficult. It is actually stolen, it was not carried out under normal conditions. And for this reason, I have not been able to bring the full interview to the public, as I have decided and thought that it is a story that I should publish, as it is one of the stories of women who suffered during the communist dictatorship. And so I decided to bring the interview in the first person and in English. "
