Under the shadow of history and with a new vision for space, the Albanian Pavilion is represented at the Venice Architecture Biennale with the theme "Building Architecture Culture", curated by Anneke Abelhakh, revealing the interplay between architectural heritage and contemporary challenges in an urban transformation that is changing the face of our cities.
This pavilion is an invitation to a global dialogue on the relationship between architecture and society, highlighting the role of architecture as a tool to create cities, memories and identities that reflect our society. A special moment of the inauguration was the presence of some of the most renowned names in world architecture such as Bjarke Ingels, Winy Maas, as well as representatives of some of the most renowned international studios, a testament to the increasing attention that Albania is attracting in the global arena.
"Participation in this Biennial represents more than an artistic presence – it is a testament to the real transformation taking place in Albania. Architecture is becoming an instrument of development, a tool for identity building, economic development, urban innovation and international cooperation," said Minister of Culture Blendi Gonxhja.
Architecture for us is more than an act of construction, it is a transformative vision, uniting heritage with the challenges of modern times.
