Photographers and videographers (professionals and amateurs) from Albania and 36 countries around the world brought to this edition, wonderful images and footage, revealing Albania through the beauties of nature and cultural and historical heritage.
This edition is notable for the participation from distant and interesting countries, such as Mauritius, Colombia, Uruguay, Indonesia and others, writes A2.
Participants in the competition have uploaded 5504 materials to the official competition website www.wanderlustinalbania.al in the categories: Landscapes; Panoramic Photos; Monuments and Archaeological Sites; Folklore; Crafts and Handicrafts; Agrotourism and Culinary; TEA Application Events; Ecotourism and Sports Tourism; Architecture; Photo-reportage; Animation.
The novelty of this edition of the “Wanderlust in Albania” Competition is the CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) category, integrating digital art and animation in the promotion of Albanian tourism. This is a perfect opportunity for artists and creators to use technology and creativity to create images and animations that can highlight the beauties of Albania to attract tourists from all over the world.
The CGI category offers endless opportunities to create visuals with natural landscapes, historical monuments, or even parts of Albanian culture and traditions, giving them a modern and attractive dimension. The jury of the competition consists of five professionals, Albanian and foreign. The chairman of the jury is Albes Fusha, who currently holds the position of head of the Department of Photography at the University of Arts in Tirana, where he contributes to the formation of new generations of Albanian photographers. The winners were honored for their extraordinary contribution to the promotion of Albania as a tourist destination with a total of 40 special awards. In this edition, awards were given to 33 winners for 11 categories who were declared “Contributors to the Promotion of Albanian Tourism”. Also, 4 winners were honored with the title “Ambassadors of Albanian Tourism” and 3 winners were selected from the online public vote.
From the total materials submitted to the competition, 800 photographs and 100 selected video reels will be added to the National Tourism Agency's fund and will be used in promotional materials for Albania's tourism industry, including magazines, albums, information sheets, brochures, and advertising spots.
