In the multitude of words of the Albanian thinker and politician Arbën Xhaferri, Prime Minister Edi Rama chose 3 of them to convey the messages for the Albanian people in all regions and for the Balkans. In his speech at the evening organized by the youth of the "Arbën Xhaferi" Foundation, the head of the Albanian government started with integration to show the greatest dream of Albanians, which according to him Arbën Xhaferri has also said.
"Arbën Xhaferri is asked what is the biggest dream? And he answers: the biggest dream is the integration of the Albanian people into the system of Western political, ethical, cultural values and continues a simple sentence composed of words that have a deep meaning and many difficult to fully understand, and this is frighteningly true, because I do not believe that there is any other place in the east and the west where western values are talked about more, where western values are preached as ethical cultural values. And I do not believe that any other country that has previously described the path to joining the European family has used the word integration more, and I do not believe that here in this country all these words are used, the same like money during an inflationary crisis where it is only printed, to have been further away from their bearers and users as a whole".
The peoples of the Balkans suffer from an ethnopolitical strabismus that makes them see each other crookedly. This was another word chosen by the prime minister to target not the peoples, but their leaders, who, according to Rama, hold the future hostage to the past.
"Another word by Arbën Xhaferri that I don't believe has any possible competition in terms of synthesis that summarizes in just one sentence the difficulty of the Balkan peoples to overcome the past as follows: "The Balkan peoples suffer from an ethnopolitical strabismus that makes them see distort each other". The problem is not the peoples per se, but the leaders who, instead of curing this ethnopolitical strabismus, actually use and exploit it, trying to displace the object of discussion and the need not to see each other crookedly from the center and divert it there. where the ethnostrabic eye looks and thus creates a continuity imposed not by the people but by the leaderships to stimulate seeing the future with the eyes of the past. Meanwhile, for Albania, and not only for him, but for all Albanians, there is only one way to realize what Arbën Xhaferri calls integration into the system of European values to make it work as a system of guarantees and well-being. The orientation of looking from the future and seeing the past with the eyes of the future. This makes possible, according to me, the difference that with words in an amazing order they try to pass to one another to say that the future will be better than the past, but with actions most do the opposite and keep the future hostage to the past".
The third message of the head of the Albanian government through the words of Arbën Xhaferri was to open the curtains and overcome the squinting ethno-political relationship with oneself.
"The third and last one I brought with me from Arbën Xhaferri's words; Since we live in a world of interaction of national cultures, it must be concluded that Albanians lack national propaganda on the international level. National propaganda on the international plane is something else than closing the curtains and propagandizing among ourselves all that very valuable, inalienable part necessarily to be preserved so that we dance and the world beyond these curtains listens and shakes. . Exactly opening the curtains and overcoming this strabismic ethnopolitical relationship with ourselves is what Arbën Xhaferri writes, but unlike many who can write, Xhaferri has another characteristic that makes him one of the great personalities of the political history of Albanian culture. When you read Arba Xhaferri, you don't find any gap between what he writes and what he has tried to embody throughout his life with the power of example". (A2 Televizion)
