The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has stated that the year 2025 will be declared the year of the diaspora.
Berisha made the comments through a statement to the media, where he said that if in 1990 the dictatorship was overthrown by students, this year, according to him, Albanian immigrants around the world will overthrow it, writes A2 CNN.
Berisha also said that in the remaining days there will be massive registrations of emigrants to vote, citing a figure of 200 thousand additional requests.

The second major political development is the declaration of 2025 as the year of the diaspora.
So, 2025 will go down in our national history as the year of the Albanian diaspora.
You have not been to the meetings I have had in Italy, in Greece, but I guarantee that in your life you have never seen, and your imagination cannot capture, the enthusiasm, the explosion of enthusiasm in these meetings.
An extraordinary explosion, an unprecedented explosion, a positive energy, an optimism that, if we use a figurative term, almost broke the walls of the hall and the stadium.
Then, it was inevitable that 2025 would be declared the year of the diaspora, as this entire explosive outburst is a hurricane of victory.
I emphasized it yesterday in front of thousands and thousands of people in that stadium and I emphasize it again today, if the revolution of the '90s to overthrow the dictatorship was led by liberating students, now the real liberators of Albania are its sons and daughters who have emigrated for a different life, but who are determined to do everything to save Albania from the narco-dictatorship of Edi Rama. It is an unstoppable hurricane.
I have analyzed this situation several times with myself, what its basis is. Its basis is that the events and developments in Albania are the most dramatic, which shame and hurt every free and honest person.
The diaspora living in free countries has an absolute determination to overthrow the narco-dictatorship, and I tell you that these 200,000 or so who have registered will be followed by at least another 200,000 who will flood in from all over Europe to come and exercise their right to vote.
It is the year of the diaspora.
It is the year of the diaspora revolution.
