Sali Berisha considers tourism a sector with great economic potential, promising support for this sector. In a roundtable with tourism associations in the country, the candidate for prime minister affirmed that the sector will first be formalized.

"Tourism has a very major problem. The major problem is the informality in which this sector is floating."

He asked everyone to be responsible in treating visitors and showed how he would deal with small accommodation structures.

"We have no intention of banning AirBnB, but formalization is a necessary condition."

He promised support for businesses in this sector, promising that the state would pay employees the minimum wage during the off-season.

"We, together with these associations, will reach an agreement where the state will take over part of the salaries of tourism industry employees outside the seasons."

For this sector to see growth year after year, the opposition leader promised that if he gains the trust of Albanians on May 11, he will invest in infrastructure to bring visitors closer to tourist sites. (A2 Televizion)
