Voting for the new government begins, CEC receives first Diaspora votes,

As of Wednesday morning, 111 Albanians from the diaspora had chosen their political preference for who they want in government after May 11. The data was provided by the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, referring to information he had received from the DHL courier that manages the mailing of the envelopes with the ballots.

Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission has continued sending ballots to the diaspora. Regarding this process, which he followed closely, Celibashi expressed positive notes about the work so far, underlining that over 36% of the total ballots have been sent.

"The data is encouraging, the sheets will remain here under the watchful eye of the monitors."

This voting process also carries with it the fear of being influenced illegally, as long as accusations between the competing parties in the elections have not been lacking and the only guarantee given by the CEC was their willingness not to be part of the criminal acts of electoral crimes.

"It is up to them whether they will join or not, if we find out we will prosecute them."

The opposition's suspicions of interference in the process were not only directed at the ruling party, but also at the CEC, suspicions which were clarified after Celibashi's clarification.

According to the CEC, by the end of the week, all voting envelopes will be distributed, with around 100,000 having been sent out so far. (A2 Televizion)
