The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has stated that 'Great Albania' can be realized once every Albanian emerges from extreme poverty.
Berisha made the comments during a supporter meeting in Lezha, where he presented the Democratic Party's candidates for MPs.
Berisha also promised that in Albania there will no longer be a minimum wage below 500 euros and added that taxes for businesses will be among the lowest in the country's history.

Dear friends!
I come to you today to present the program of Great Albania, the program of Great Lezha.
I come here with the deepest conviction that, if Albanian greatness has a zenith, if Albanian greatness has an Everest, this zenith, this Everest, is Lezha.
Centuries ago, the covenant inspired and continues to inspire the people of Lezghin and Albanians to achieve the most impossible victories, to have boundless faith in themselves and Albania.
It was this covenant that multiplied the strength of the Albanians in their resistance like never before. Therefore, to anyone who might say that this grandeur seems a little high, I say no; this grandeur has existed in these lands and will exist in these lands as long as they exist.
This magnificent Lezha and magnificent Albania is not a fantasy, but a dream to become reality, it is a daydream, of our young men, of our young women, of our children, of every Albanian.
To realize this daydream, we have a project with which we begin work with the compassion package, with heart in hand. We begin work with heart in hand.
We begin our work where we have the most accomplished spiritual virtue of Albanians, and the most accomplished spiritual virtue of Albanians is their charity, their kindness of heart.
That's why we have defined the compassion package as an emergency.
Every pensioner, every man and woman, every young person, every unemployed person, every person on economic assistance, every student on scholarship, without exception, everyone will receive a minimum of 200 euros per month.
It's not much, but still 6.3 euros per day per individual, no one is anymore, no Albanian is anymore in extreme poverty.
And we, with a swift, draconian blow, remove extreme poverty from the Albanian lands, which are the most prosperous lands.
Dear friends!
Not only that, but all pensioners, all wage earners will also have a consumer card with which they will get back the VAT, the 20% they pay for basic things, for food and medicine. In this way, each pensioner will receive about 450 euros per year, that is, they will receive 2-3 pensions today.
The minimum wage in Albania will no longer be below 500 euros. I assure entrepreneurs that the state, by reducing taxes, will not only ensure that they do not lose, but on the contrary, their money in their bank accounts will grow and they will make investments.
My friends!
We cannot move forward, we cannot move towards greatness, if we do not support, if we do not lift Albanian citizens out of misery.
The list of medicines that you get at the pharmacy, Doshi-Nushi, Nushi-Doshi medicines that are completely expired, will be identical to the list of the Italian Republic, and on the territory of Albania, a medicine that has not been marketed in two EU countries will never be shown.
We cannot live like the Italians because we do not have those conditions, but we will take the medicines like them, because we have those conditions, we have those conditions to help every Albanian citizen with effective medicines. (A2 Televizion)
