Aldo Bumçi, a member of the leadership and the Council of the Democratic Party, spoke in the Midday Diary by Denisa Pasholli on A2 CNN about the protest that the opposition will hold this Monday in Tirana, from where he showed the innovations of this protest.
"The novelty is that the Democrats are determined, that their struggle bore fruit despite every attempt to extinguish it. This has been an extraordinary year for the DP, as it has remained in unimaginable conditions. The activity of citizens has been unimaginable. We held a nightly protest at Berisha's apartment, over 35 protests were held at the City Hall, we have had large protests since February 20. This protest energy shows that the citizens are at a boiling point or at a point where they can no longer accept Edi Rama as the prime minister of the country.
Albania did not become a regime in one month, but it was this constant daily battle, in the parliament, all of which brought this reality where 3 resolutions were approved. So, the truths are and are supported by the majority of Albanians, that's why Rama makes a facade election. The message has been clear, like Belarus and Tunisia. In Belarus, he is Putin's friend, while in Tunisia, the entire opposition is in prison," said Bumçi.
He also commented on the closure of TikTok, saying that Rama took this decision because, according to Bumçi, the DP is on this social network with a big difference from the SP. "The closure of TikTok is not done to prevent serious events such as the conflict between teenagers, but it is done to silence a society that will be free. In the latest data, on TikTok there is a big difference in audience and posts between DP and SP, up to 20 percentage points difference", said Bumçi.
