Negotiations for group chapter VI open today, Rama from Brussels: In the spring

An important step and a good day for the country, Prime Minister Edi Rama has described the opening of negotiations for group chapter VI today at the third intergovernmental conference in Brussels. Speaking to journalists before the start of the conference, the head of the Albanian government announced the opening of a group of other chapters in the spring.

"The march continues. We are here to take an important step and open a new chapter group that is very important to our plan because it is a step that is being done according to the plan. And we want to move forward. Our ambition is to open many more chapters, hopefully in the spring and ensure that the year closes with a group of open chapters. It is a very good day for our country and a motivating step for all of us".

Albania is holding today in Brussels the third intergovernmental conference Albania - EU, where negotiations will be officially opened for group chapter VI, which is "Foreign relations" and includes negotiation chapters 30 and 31, respectively "Foreign relations" and "Foreign policy, of security and defense".

The Albanian delegation is headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama himself. Together with him are the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani, the Minister of State and Chief Negotiator Majlinda Dhuka, the Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu, the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja, the Minister of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption Adea Pirdeni, as well as a delegation made up of the negotiators responsible for the constituent chapters (30, 31) of the VI chapter group.

A2 CNN has disclosed the agenda of today's conference, which starts at 8:00 a.m. and then at 10:00 a.m. there will be a joint press conference of Prime Minister Rama with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, and with Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations mrs. Marta Kos.

The Intergovernmental Conference precedes the Summit of the EU and the Western Balkans, which will be held the next day, as well as a series of meetings that Prime Minister Rama and cabinet ministers will hold with high representatives of the EU.

This third intergovernmental conference is the second during the Hungarian presidency, after the one held in Luxembourg on October 15, where Albania opened the five membership chapters, part of fundamental issues such as Judiciary, Fundamental Rights, Justice, Procurement, Statistics, Security and Financial Control.
