Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that the European Union is not only asking Albania to join, but according to him, it is asking for it immediately.
Rama made the comments in the 'Sy m'Sy' column on social networks, where he chats and answers citizens' questions.
Rama also said that Albania is at the forefront of countries in the region to join the European Union, writes A2 CNN.
"They not only say 'we want you in the EU', but 'we want you in the EU now'," Rama said, continuing by saying that "Albania is already at the forefront of the accession process."
Rama also spoke about the fight against corruption, stating that previously unprecedented measures are being taken in Albania.
"We have brought a historic innovation since the first government in 1912," said Rama, who also praised the importance of the independence of the judicial system in Albania. (A2 Televizion)
