The Complaints and Sanctions Commission of the CEC decided by majority vote to overturn Ilirjan Celibashi's decision requesting the Assembly to stop reviewing the draft laws "On the Mountains Package" and "VAT for the Agricultural Sector".
The claim of the state election commissioner that the two initiatives could have an impact on the campaign was considered as an excess of competence by the Assembly as the complaining party, which was found right by the KAS.
To oppose Celibashi's decision, the initiator Erion Braçe went, who stated that the draft law proposed by him does not intend to favor any specific category before the elections.
These positions seem to have touched the conscience of the three members of the KAS proposed by the Socialist Party, where with their votes they gave the green light to the consideration of these initiatives in the Assembly even before the parliamentary elections of May 11.
The KAS decision did not demoralize Ilirjan Celibashi. While one act was being overturned, he took another, asked the assembly to block the initiative aimed at easing the sentence of imprisoned or detained persons, again with the argument that it favors a certain class with the right to vote.
