CEC publishes figures for the first hour, 50% less voter turnout compared to 4 years ago

CEC data shows 11,601 voters in the first 60 minutes of the voting process.

Compared to the 2021 elections, there is about 50% less voter turnout, considering only the 07:00-08:00 interval.

Albania holds parliamentary elections today. Voting opens at 07:00 across the country and closes at 19:00. Over 3.7 million (3,713,761) eligible citizens inside and outside Albania will exercise their right to vote in the election of representatives to parliament, as well as for the leadership of the country for the next 4 years.

Over 114 thousand (114,642) citizens will vote for the first time in these elections, while for the first time in Albania the diaspora will also vote, a process that will be carried out by mail. According to data from the Central Election Commission, more than 245 thousand people have registered to participate in this process.

In these elections, 2,046 candidates are running for just 140 seats in Parliament.
