The Constitutional Court postpones the examination of the request of former

The Constitutional Court postpones the examination of the request of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha until January.

The hearing of Berisha's appeal against the "house arrest" measure was scheduled for December 27, but the hearing has been moved to January 17.

The Constitutional Court has motivated the postponement of the session with the existence of "objective reasons". The session of January 17 is without the presence of the parties, only on the basis of documents.

Sali Berisha gained freedom on November 27, after 11 months of isolation within the four walls of the house. The Special Court decided to release the democratic leader, revoking the "house arrest" security measure given to him on December 30, 2023.

The decision that gave right to Berisha's claims for revocation of the measure was announced by judge Flojera Davidhi in a session held on Wednesday morning. The session was not announced earlier by the court, even in the handwritten note made in the daily list of court sessions, the name of the applicant Sali Berisha was not, but that of the Special Prosecutor's Office.

The former prime minister was represented in the trial by lawyer Genci Gjokutaj. While SPAK prosecutors asked the court to continue the "house arrest" security measure. SPAK said that after learning about the decision, it will appeal to the Special Appeal. (A2 Televizion)
