"We did not block the road, there was no criminal offense", Luan

"I was punched, but it wasn't just me, many others were also punched. The police are clearly breaking the law."

This is what the deputy of the Democratic Party, Luan Baçi, said in the Midday Diary by Denisa Pasholli on A2 CNN, as he commented on the protest of the day before, where the roads in Tirana were blocked.

He accused the police of breaking the law, while emphasizing that the opposition has its constitutional right to protest.

"The way of calling with a megaphone - "Clear the way" - is wrong. We have an obligation to notify the police of the place and time, and the police have a legal obligation to ensure a peaceful protest. The police do the exact opposite by blocking the road themselves without the citizens coming and in a pre-prepared manner they intimidate the citizens with megaphones.

The policemen pushed us and then started kicking and punching us under the spacesuit so as not to be seen.

We have not blocked the road, it is not a criminal offense. The law gives us this, the Constitution gives us this. What we do is legal and what the police do to disperse the protesters is illegal," said Luan Baçi. (A2 Televizion)
