Maliqi quarrels with Celibas, the CEC does not remove the mandate from the mayor

The non-declaration of deportation from Greece in the decriminalization form was not a reasonable reason for Ilirjan Celibashi to create the conviction to terminate the mandate of the Mayor of Kučova. The Central Election Commission reviewed the in-depth investigation of the General Prosecutor's Office, where it was found that Kreshnik Hajdari was convicted 24 years ago in Greece.

To show the reasons for this sentence, the mayor of Kuçova had personally come to the CEC, but had delegated the speech to the lawyer.

"It turns out that in 1999, when Kreshnik Hajdari was 16 years old, he was caught by the Greek authorities for illegally crossing the border. Social reprimand measures were taken and he left the territory within 24 hours."

Theodhori Sallaku – Hajdar's lawyer

The representatives of the opposition came fifth in the CEC hall to each give their arguments as to why Kreshnik Hajdar's mandate should be terminated, the main one being the non-declaration on the form of a sentence of another state, although they admitted that the measure given to him was minor.

"Immediate termination of the mandate due to non-declaration of a final decision. The General Prosecutor's Office confirms that it existed and that it was not declared. It may be a relatively low sentence, it matters little, it matters that it has not been declared."

Franci Nuri – Representative of the opposition

The arguments of the parties did not influence the conviction of Celibashi, who had come to the hall with the clear idea that Kreshnik Hajdar's mandate should not be terminated, based on other similar cases, where since taking the direction of the institution, he has followed the same logic.

"In my assessment, there is the belief that a subject who has the obligation due to the commitment to obtain a public office to fill out a self-declaration form, does not have the obligation to include data that does not constitute a reason to run."

This decision irritated Lefter Maliq, the opposition candidate in the May 14 elections, who challenged Kreshnik Hajdar in the Municipality of Kuçova.

"It is a scandalous body, if it has received money it will come out one day. What this guy is doing with these guys is the biggest shame of Albania, pure dictatorship!"

Celibashi chose not to respond to him and beyond the invitation to leave the hall, continued with the approval of other agenda items.  (A2 Televizion)
