Next mandate for justice, Rama "threatens" SPAK: Don't you dare

The attack launched against SPAK - under the label of "constructive criticism" - turned into the position of the parliamentary group, when Edi Rama, in front of the socialist deputies, did not hesitate to compare the Special Prosecution Office with the Investigation Department of the communist dictatorship, after the arrest of Erion Veliaj.

"We are not here to simply report news. On the contrary, we fall into a situation that resembles the past more than the future. Why because Albania has had a dictatorship or a republic of investigators in the past. This is a parliamentary republic, where, based on the Constitution, the powers are independent," said Rama.

With the allusion that Veliaj is in prison only for his wife's dresses and jewelry, the Prime Minister claimed that the SPAK file has no evidence and publicly challenges finding them. He himself seems to have launched a counter-investigation by meeting and talking to the witnesses in this file, who he says have been intimidated.

He used words similar to those of Veliaj against the prosecutor, as he attempted to refute the claims regarding the appointment of former Deputy Minister Gentiana Sula.

The attack continued against the judge who ordered Veliaj's arrest, calling him close to the Democrats, as the mayor had done from his cell. For this, he used a message sent to his cell phone by a citizen, a maneuver similar to those of Sali Berisha.

Raising doubts that SPAK is acting with "political balance", the Prime Minister showed Altin Dumani the red line where he should not step. Albania 2030 and EU membership were forgotten. New circumstances force changes in the motivation for a fourth mandate. (A2 Televizion)
