The political agreement between the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party on the lists of candidates for MPs has also begun to materialize in the Central Election Commission.
Ilirjan Celibashi approved the act that provides for the ranking of candidates for the May 11 parliamentary elections, stipulating that each entity that will compete must present a list of 186 candidates, divided into two groups, writes A2 CNN.
The larger the district, the more candidates have the opportunity to compete on an open list, while in small electoral areas, such as Kukës or Gjirokastra, the possibility of competition is practically 0.
In July 2024, the Assembly approved amendments to the Electoral Code regarding the list of candidates for deputies, an amendment which was not overturned even by the Constitutional Court, leaving in force the division of the list into closed and open zones. (A2 Televizion)
