Former Democratic Party MP, Lajla Përnaska, has confessed to 'Dita Jonë' on A2 CNN about her contact with former US First Lady, Hilary Clinton.
Pernaska said he contacted her via landline after she had an open conversation with the whole world on Voice of America.
She said that during the conversation with Mrs. Clinton, she invited her to come to Albania, but according to Përnaska, the 1997 civil war and other developments made this impossible at the moment.
Pernaska said that later, in 1998, she was invited to Washington, which, according to her, was an important event in the life and career of the former MP.
"I had my first personal contact with Mrs. Clinton when she was the first US president. And you know how I got her? I got her during their '96 campaign, where she appeared on Voice of America and had an open conversation with the whole world."
He gave the number a few days before to VOA itself and I took the number and insisted on the landline until I was connected to the studio. And I managed to get into a conversation with him directly.
"I invited her to Albania, she welcomed her and then continued through their Embassy channels, but it happened in '97... In '98 I was invited to an event in Washington, which was also an important moment for me. She had her own way, but very active as the first lady that helped her later enter a political career," said Pernaska, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
