Shkodër Municipality Council approved the 2025 budget only with majority votes and in an unusual situation.
The budget was approved amid the objections of the members of the Shkodra municipal council who went to the council floor objecting and responding, writes A2 CNN.
The meeting started normally. The mayor Benet Beci presented 3 main points, the strategic investment projects for a Shkodra capital of the region, the transformation of Shkodra with the current projects realized and the future and the third point called the municipality at work.
After the speech of the mayor, the opposition asked for the floor, but the chairman of the municipal council, Oltion Luli, gave the floor to the director of finance, Teuta Haxhi, for the technical details of the budget. The opposition did not allow such a thing, asking the mayor to speak.
After a break of a few minutes, the meeting resumed, but again during the break no agreement was found. Members of the opposition stood up near the rostrum, retorting with the council president.
Under these conditions, the head of the council invited the majority by voting the 2025 budget of Shkodër municipality without any discussion. In the end, the opposition shouted ironically "Party Enver, we are ready whenever", referring to the communist system, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
