The Central Election Commission announces that the process of counting and evaluating votes for voting within the territory of Albania has been completed, in accordance with the deadlines provided for in the Electoral Code. The process has included all electoral entities, political parties and coalitions in the 12 regions of the country.
According to preliminary CEC data:
• The number of voters on the list within the country was 3,467,962.
• 1,458,251 voters voted, marking a turnout of 42.21%.
• 1,402,820 votes were considered valid, while 55,334 votes were declared invalid.
The process of votes from abroad continues
Following the processing of the results, the CEC announces that the process of counting and evaluating the votes of voters from abroad is still ongoing. So far, 75,414 ballots have been counted and evaluated out of a total of 194,889, which constitutes about 39% of the total votes from abroad.
The counting process for votes from abroad has been completed for the Kukës region.
The evaluation of preferential votes on the open list is also progressing.
Meanwhile, the counting and evaluation of votes for candidates with preferential voting (on the open list) has been completed in several districts and electoral administration areas:
• Shkodër District: 2 CEAZ
• Kukës District: 2 CEAZ
• Dibër District: 2 CEAZ
• Berat District: 2 CEAZ
• Korçë District: 2 CEAZ
• Gjirokastër District: 7 CEAZ
• Vlorë District: 5 CEAZ
• Tirana District: 2 CEAZ (PEVN)
In total, the process of counting and evaluating votes for candidates has begun in 24 CEAZs.
The process is expected to start in 7 other CEAZs.
The process has not yet started in 7 electoral administration zones:
• 3 CEAZs in Durrës district (no. 20, 23, 25)
• 4 CEAZs in Tirana district (no. 20, 23, 25, 30, 35, 36, 40)
The CEC is closely monitoring the progress of the process, which is expected to be concluded in accordance with the standards set for electoral integrity. (A2 Televizion)
