Over the weekend, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha promised that with the Democratic Party in power, Albania would be the country with the lowest taxes in Europe.
This Monday, at a press conference, the Democratic leader further detailed the economic program with which the political force he leads will ask citizens for votes on May 11, writes A2 CNN.
Berisha guaranteed that his project does not jeopardize the country's economic security.
The main goal of the Democratic Party's economic program is to reduce taxes for Albanians, said the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at a press conference. Initially, he focused on the payroll tax.
"A 10% tax will be applied on income from work, excluding the first 50 thousand lek. A 10% tax on other income, not from salary. Zero taxation on freelancers and small businesses," Berisha said, among other things, A2 CNN writes.
Berisha further explained the benefits that small businesses will have, as part of the Democratic Party's political offer for the May 11 elections.
"The annual ceiling for profit tax, zero for small businesses, will be 18 million lek, or 500 euros per day. The VAT exemption limit will also be 18 million lek annual turnover, or 500 euros per day."
"Reduction from 15 to 2% of the property sales tax and for this purpose the creation of a fiscal cadastre for determining reference prices," Berisha further said.
Berisha categorically denied the risk that tax cuts could lead to economic instability for the country.
"We give a full guarantee that, not only will it not harm, but it will strengthen economic stability, will massively create employment, will massively boost production," Berisha concluded.
The bad news from Washington, where the US State Department report considers Berisha's criminal prosecution as a success of SPAK and openly refers to his declaration as 'non grata' for massive corruption, raised questions about the activity of strategist Chris LaCivita, who, with his involvement in the campaign, raised hopes that he would influence President Trump to change the White House's approach towards Sali Berisha.
But Berisha said that "LaCivita is in full activity with the DP." (A2 Televizion)
