The Albanian government has decided to extend the period of residence of Ukrainian citizens in Albania from 3 years to 4 years.
The decision was made at today's (May 21, 2025) meeting of the Council of Ministers, writes A2 CNN.
The decision states that the decision will enter into force after publication in the Official Gazette and that the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs are responsible for implementing this decision.

AN AMENDMENT TO DECISION NO.169, DATED 18.3.2022, OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS, “ON DETERMINING THE TERM OF ENTRY AND RESIDENCE OF CITIZENS OF UKRAINE IN THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA”, AMENDED
In accordance with Article 100 of the Constitution and point 2, Article 29, of Law No. 79/2021, “On Foreigners”, upon the proposal of the Minister of Interior and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers
DECIDED:
1. In point 1, of decision no. 169, dated 18.3.2022, of the Council of Ministers, “On determining the term of entry and stay of citizens of Ukraine in the Republic of Albania”, as amended, the phrase “… 3 (three) years …” is replaced by “… 4 (four) years …”.
2. The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs are responsible for the implementation of this decision.
