Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, participated in the presentation of the gasification project for the city of Korça. According to Minister Balluku, this is a strategic investment, in cooperation with the Azerbaijani state corporation SOCAR and with the support of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev, aimed at building a modern gas distribution network.
Minister Balluku explained why Korça was chosen as the starting point for the project. According to her, the main reasons are the high level of consumer discipline, the importance of the city as a tourist center, and the development of agriculture in the region.
"Korça is a model consumer that has shown success in every pilot project, has paid its bills regularly and has been cooperative. It is also among the areas with the most developed agriculture and a high production volume," she said.
Balluku also spoke about the benefits that this project will bring to citizens and the local economy from the use of cleaner and more efficient energy, environmental protection, significant cost reductions for families and businesses, and sustainable economic and urban development.
