Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to the attacks on Marjana Koçek, known as "Neomalesorja", who is running on the closed list of socialists in Shkodra. At the meeting with socialist candidates, the head of government explained why the Socialist Party accepted her invitation to enter politics. He admitted that Marjana Koçek has previously expressed her desire to enter politics, but when the time comes. According to Rama, she will be an added value for Shkodra and the tourism sector and rural issues.
"I have noticed the bullying that some sources and grotesque characters do under the guise of analysts, commentators and even intellectuals who have the courage to call themselves, exposing her as a symbol of the banality of the past. I know very well that Marjana is strong, she is even so stubborn that she will be a problem in her own right. I want to respond to those who have no idea who Marjana is and start from the fact that she is from the mountains. And they do not understand, at all, zero, the provocation of the photo with the goat. Which is a beautiful image and they forget to ask where Marjana comes from and what she has done in life. She is not the girl with the lamb and goat who was taken simply for the panorama or the facade, but she is a personality in the true sense of the word for her age. A self-created personality with a lot of ambition, stubbornness and a lot of vicissitudes. I am convinced that they do not know that she studied political science abroad, she had a special trajectory to get here and she has had ambitions for politics a long time ago. "I met Marjana before on the podcast. She told me that she wants to get into politics, but when the day comes. Above all, she is a person who comes from a successful career, where 99% of others would have given up, in the middle of nowhere, where she has managed to have a house and now she has built a tourist destination. Why we have accepted Marjana's application is that we believe that she will be an added value for the Shkodra region and the tourism sector and rural Albania. She will be an added value as someone who has studied political science produced with her own hands from the land. She has seen both sides of the coin, poverty, success, her fellow villagers but also tourists from all over the world at her door. It is useless to tell you that those who have created all that 'pocaqi' should be ashamed. They have nothing to do with shame, I simply think that for others, Marjana deserves this explanation for the philosophy and approach that we have built."
The "Neomalyser" was compared to Lenka Çuko, who became a member of the Politburo in 1971, at the age of 33, after being taken from the village.
