Prime Minister Edi Rama called the resolution adopted by the European People's Parties this week, linking Albania's European future to free elections, "swamp paper."
"It's a flash of lightning from the swamp. I know very well how party conferences that all come together work. A party inserts a text there, it's written from top to bottom by the group of frogs that deal with this topic, and they pass it over. But in the meantime, I would like to inform you that all the prime ministers of those parties who were at that meeting, as well as the EC president and the EC chairman, etc., will be in Tirana on May 16. And the fact that they are coming to Tirana to hold the European Political Community Summit speaks very clearly about what Albania is today," Rama said on "Off the Record" with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN.
Asked when the contested elections in our country will end, Rama recalled the elections when the Socialist Party won its first mandate. "Those elections in 2013 were not contested because whoever was in charge of organizing them lost and had nothing to contest.
