Deputy Luan Baçi, invited to the studio of the show "Debate" by Alba Alishani, on A2 CNN, stated that Prime Minister Edi Rama has been alerted by the vote of the diaspora, since, according to him, the voters outside Albania are the majority of voters of the Democratic Party.
"The majority is on alert for the diaspora vote. If they really wanted the vote of the diaspora, they would have accepted it from the beginning, but they were forced to accept it only by the Democratic Party. That is why they put the condition of this Electoral Code unacceptable for us, because they did not want the opening of the lists and were ready to leave the diaspora without voting", said Baçi.
According to him, "The Democratic Party has done as much as it could for the vote of the diaspora, even going so far as to accept a half-hearted Electoral Code, with a 30% closed list, just so that the vote of the diaspora was available".
"Rama's alarm is legitimate and he knows it well, since about 1 million Albanians have left in these 12 years. They left not out of joy, but out of trouble. Those who could not provide for the family here have fled, those who were against this government and the majority of DP voters have fled. Be convinced that the vote of the diaspora will be a plebiscite for the DP", Baçi added.
