Rama from Brussels: We hope that our membership will be closed within this decade

Prime Minister Edi Rama, at the third intergovernmental conference in Brussels, stated that the ambition of the government he leads is to do "homework" and to close the negotiations in 2027, so that "our membership closes within this decade", he writes A2.

"The acceleration of the steps is first of all the merit of the Hungarian government, which has a clear ambition to support the expansion of the European Union. Secondly, this could not have happened without the full support of the member states. There is no doubt for us that a Europe with an integrated Western Balkans will be more united and safer. Our ambition is known, we want to do our homework and close our negotiations in 2027. We hope to close our membership within this decade. It is an ambitious goal, which we have shared with the Commission. It is essential for us not to forget and not to underestimate the principle of membership based on merit.
