The opposition leader considers Edi Rama's order and the police action to demolish buildings built without permits in Theth as government revenge to drive tourists away from the area.

"In the middle of the tourist season, he has found revenge against Theth to drive away even those tourists who go there as the only source of income for that community. To call it madness is not madness, it is intentional."

He admits that the residents of Theth in Shkodra may have committed legal violations with their constructions, but says that each building is on inherited land and they have not occupied territory. Berisha adds that the demolitions should have been done out of season.

"But if there have been violations there, let's say, then every state sends a notice of finding and there is no state in the world that intervenes in the middle of the season. They have contracts, they have bookings, they have notices. Wait for the season to end and act."

The leader of the Democrats finds another reason for this action in the elections.

"He is in a big trouble after being caught in the crossfire for stealing the elections, for the electoral farce, for destroying the process, now he is doing everything to distract the attention of Albanians from the farce. But these are acts of state crime."

Asked about Ervin Salianji, released from prison the day before, Berisha claimed that he has not yet met with his former MP, whose sentence he considered politically motivated.

"I have constant communication with Ervin Salianji and now I will come and meet him."  (A2 Televizion)
